About - George Azzari

I am an Earth System scientist interested in applying remote sensing to different environmental and social issues. During my PhD, I worked with Mike Goulden at UC, Irvine on monitoring large-scale post-fire vegetation recovery and its impact on climate in Southern California.

After that, I moved to Stanford where I currently work with David Lobell at the center on Food Security and the Environment (FSE). My current work focuses on monitoring different aspects of food security, including satellite-based classification of crop types, detection of management practices, and estimates of crop yield.
